Hi. I’m in California, I just got served by the court for an unpaid student loan from Sallie Mae. I don’t know what to do. Life has been hard lately and I missed making payments. The debt is now owned by Southwood Financial. Do I need to contact them? I’m freaking out! Help

You can contact them and try to settle before going to court. I’m no expert or lawyer or anything but from my own experience they may want the entire debt, part of it, and/or a payment plan
