Just got off the phone with Chase customer service and I requested to product change my CFU to the OG Freedom and quite interestingly she mentioned that there is currently a bonus of $200 for $500 of spend.
No email yet to confirm this but wanted to share it with y'all might be a great time to product change for 20k Chase points.
***Product changed CFU because Bilt Palladium is my new catch-all. Planning to re-apply for the CFU again once I qualify for the 5/24 rule and 24 months is up from last CFU application

I’d honestly bet a lot that the rep is confused here. The OG Freedom hasn’t been open to new applicants for ages…there’s zero chance that they’d put a SUB on a relatively obscure, PC-only card that they don’t directly offer anymore.
What she described is the current Freedom Flex card bonus (did she PC to the wrong card?), which you also wouldn’t get from a PC. I don’t believe Chase has ever offered a SUB on PCs because you’re not signing up.
I don’t believe *any* lender offers SUBs on downgrades or lateral changes.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a PC SUB, at least from Chase, and especially not one for a defunct card. Will be very interesting to follow this and see what actually happens!
