I got into an accident where I was at fault while my insurance was lapsed. They claim I owe 13k in damages to the insurance company. I’m going through financial hardship and can’t pay any of their offers. How do I negotiate? What are my rights?

it’s tough but you can still negotiate. ask for a lower lump sum or small payment plan. just don’t ignore it and get everything in writing
Just call the subrogation adjuster and tell them you can’t afford it. They’ll offer a payment plan for the full amount. If you can afford some lesser amount, in full today, they might be willing to take that and write off the rest, but no guarantees.
