Why has no one run crypto mining rigs off solar panels and batteries instead of using the grid? Then youre not paying any electricity cost for the crypto. It would be all profit. The sun would be your printing press
Many miners are already using solar panels to reduce the mining cost.

Because the upfront cost of buying hudreds of acres of land near a main line substation and installing enough panels and batteries would add years to your time until profitiabilty?
It can be done, but to mine bitcoin on a commercial scale that way is an upfront investment of 10s of millions.

Like someone said, most bitcoin mining is renewable.
Bhutan are one of the largest state holders of bitcoin, and they mined it all with energy from waterfalls.
