My health insurance doesn't include weight loss meds or surgery. Can I find a secondary insurance that does cover weight loss meds? My endo has prescribed a few options for years but I can never get the prescription filled because insurance doesn't cover it.

    Can I purchase secondary insurance?

I don’t know of any healthcare insurance company that will cover GLP1s without a diabetes diagnosis.

Your best bet is an online compound pharmacy.

Health insurance is not my sandbox, but on the face of it, a monoline (in this case, weight loss meds) plan would be a claims disaster. Only folks who want the coverage buy the coverage, and these are the same folks that are on these meds, or are planning to be so. This is a classic example of adverse selection. Bluntly, the insurance company would almost immediately lose boatloads of money.

    3. No, there is no supplemental insurance for prescriptions. You can find providers that offer glp1 meds online at reduced rates.
