Makes me wonder where it was all going before 🤔 it really adds up! This was just spare change from whenever we would pay for cash in something or when we would recycle our cans (we drink a lot of soda and seltzer) and we kept it in a jar. Decided to see how much was in there today and was pleasantly surprised!

I know it sounds silly but I highly recommend you guys try this.

    1. The more appropriate calculation would be total savings from not drinking that amount of soda and seltzer

    2. My partner and I have one of those Costco whiskeys we’ve been throwing spare change in. We’re in contract on a house and we’re like “mmm maybe it’s time to break it and see how much is in there” even $300 is something and would be nice hahaah

This post made me want to do it more

I throw in my 1 dollar bills as well, since I’ve got one of those ridge wallets and the ones just start thickening up the money clip too much.

My husband pays exclusively with cash so he has tons of change. Instead of using Coinstar and losing money on it, we go to Wal-Mart and pay with all coins at the self service checkouts.

    5. We do the same thing, throw all loose change in a jar but we also round up in our checking to the next dollar. We save about $800 a year doing it both ways!

    6. Wow that’s crazy! I hope you didn’t forget a decimal place like I did back in high school on a test for which I ended up with a final score of 99… (yes I’m still salty about it)
