    1. I had 138k of student loan debt. If my parents had not paid for my worthlesss undergrad degree I would have owed 225k. Both degrees are worthless at least for me. Just paid off my loans recently .

around 35k left from my computer science degree, been chipping away at it for like 3 years now. working in tech support pays decent but not amazing, so progress is slow but steady. definitely worth it though since i wouldn’t have gotten into tech without the degree, even though most of what i actually use day-to-day i learned on my own time

$160,000. All of it is from my Doctor of Audiology degree. Thankfully undergrad was debt free/paid by scholarships and grants plus working 25-40 hours a week.

Started taking loans out 2010, community college then undergrad degree obtained in 2014. 28k toal in all fed loans for a ba in business admin. Fully paid off as of Jan this year. Degree was worth every penny, it’s landed me my last 3 jobs. Go to community college first folks.

      I have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree.

I started with $139k but am down to about $40k currently.

    6. $36k to go, in repayment since 2002, first loans taken in 1998. Originally borrowed around $85k.

B.S. degree completed, M.S. course work completed but no degree received. (7 years total of undergrad + grad.)

All federal, about 160k for a bachelors and masters. Just doing PSLF. I don’t really use either of my degrees – my plan had been to do a PhD, but funding was severely cut for my field, so I ended up switching career paths. 🙃

    8. 20K community college than public state school- BS in bio. Will be pulling another 100K for PA school.

    9. Up until last month I had 61k in loans, but it was forgiven through the PSLF program. I have three degrees in nursing- ADN, BSN and MSN.

    10. I have a BS in microbiology and cell science = full ride
Currently working of my MS in Forensic DNA and Serology = $36k from federal loans

    11. $115K remaining from professional graduate degree.

Parents paid for my undergrad in full.

    12. Up to 160k thx to the SAVE swindle (capitalised interest due to the required consolidation loan), but it paid for the bachelor’s and master’s, and a good paying job afterwards

I have a degree. Could not use any type of aid because I do not qualify for it (immigrant). Started in community college as dual enrollment sticked to it since it only cost 2k per year, lived with my family and worked. Transferred to a state university, worked and lived with family 6k per year. 0 debt.

I started taking loans out in 2011 and finished my BS in 2015. I did not use my degree at all. I went back to school in 2024 for my masters and graduated end of 2025. I currently have around $85k in student loan debt. Honestly, I doubt I’ll use my new degree – I realized that it wasn’t for me like three quarters of the way through but I figured I might as well finish. 🙃

    15. 60k with comp sci degree b.s.s

I took my time and learned that burn out is real. Do not be afraid to switch degrees if you’re not feeling.

Made that mistake staying with engineering over programming

Started with 360k for a pharmacist degree 6 years ago. Now down to 160k. Still crying any paying as much as I can.

I do make 215k a year and have beeb able to start a family and buy a house last year but it still hurts. Will be nice when Ih gave these payments anymore.

Lived at home for 4 years with parents and livng very frugal

    18. ~$7k left. Received a BS in Computer Science degree in 2019 with around ~$35k in federal loans. Doing Application Support now, which still allows me to use my degree a little bit but it’s definitely not as complicated as what I went to school for. College helped me get the jobs I’ve had and I’m grateful for them, but I don’t think the field I choose was the right one for me personally
