I see mixed data points historically, but have there been any semi-recent data points showing that Citi will allow you to product change AAdvantage cards to regular Citi cards? The historical consensus seems to indicate largely that you can't, but if you get the right customer service agent, it's possible.
Looking to PC my AAdvantage Platinum Select to a Custom Cash.

been trying to do this exact same thing for months but no luck so far. called like 4 times and each agent said they can only PC to other AAdvantage cards, not the regular citi ones
maybe worth trying the chat instead of calling? sometimes different departments have different rules but i haven’t had success there either
The only DP I’ve seen recently has been to PC to a citi strata elite, from where you could presumably PC to other Citi cards, though the CSE hasn’t been around long enough for those DPs to exist.
Citi has generally closed off PC’ing AA cards to its regular line-ups though.
This changed within the past year. Citi is locking AA cards in the AA family now.
I tried product changing last September. The only non-AAdvantage options I was offered were the Citi Strata Elite and AT&T Points Plus card. I tried asking for the Custom Cash and then the Strata (no AF), but was told no on both.
IIRC the only non-AA card that you are supposed to be allowed to PC this to is the Costco card, and then you may be able to go from there to a Custom Cash or something
