Planning a big move soon and want to consolidate my cards. Here's my current thinking:
The split:
House: Airline card→ all homeowner expenses (insurance, utilities, contractors, etc.) to build organic status
– Daily card: One powerful cashback card → everything else in daily life
What I need from the cashback card:
Ideal card optimizes as many of these as possible:
- Gas
- Airfare
- Hotels
- Groceries
- Streaming
- Restaurants/bars
- Online shopping
Hard constraint: Must be able to cash out to a bank account which rules out the Amex BCP for that reason.
I currently own 13 cards (some include BCP, Green, Schwab Plat, Citi DC, Discover It Miles, United Club, Bonvoy Boundless). I am currently running CSR/CFU as my daily setup, while BBP takes care of the House portion. My Experian says 747, but I do have 11 inquiries (mostly from auto shopping).
I am thinking the airline card might be either Citi Globe or Alaska Atmos.
Anyone have suggestions? Open to anything that fits the bill.
Strategy check: simplifying my wallet when I move

Why the hard constraint on being able to redeem your cashback via direct deposit? For the cards that allow cash back in the form of direct deposit, I redeem to a HYSA. When I redeem the BCP rewards as statement credit, I transfer that amount to the HYSA. When it comes time to pay the BCP statement, the payment is lower than it would have been and my “collection” of cash back is the same.
