I underwent bypass surgery in Oct 2025. Star Health rejected my claim based on an ECHO report that had a clerical typo—it said "2024" instead of "2025."
The hospital gave me an official "Justification Letter" (Corrigendum) admitting the mistake, but Star Health is simply ignoring it to call it a "Pre-Existing Disease."
• The Logic: They claim I had heart disease in 2024 for a surgery that happened in 2025. It's medically impossible.
• The Status: They issued a "final" rejection even after receiving the hospital’s correction.
• Next Step: Moving to the Insurance Ombudsman.
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of "bad faith" rejection? Any tips for the Ombudsman hearing?
Need Advice: Insurance company (Star Health) refuses to acknowledge a proven clerical error in my medical reports.
