I’m not sure where to post this, but I’m looking to send a small amount of sats from Wallet of Satoshi to my Proton Wallet, but I’m getting a huge fee. I did this once last year and it worked fine.

You are using the wrong Bitcoin.

what changed since then is WoS adopted Spark, which is a new centralized and trustodial L2 provided by a corporation. blitz wallet switched to spark, cake wallet recently added it, and coinbase also uses it on their side. it’s starting to take over everything. trust assumptions are a little better than classic full custody, at the expense of more overhead. if you read the Spark documentation, it can give you more insight into how it stores funds and sends payments.
if I had to guess, you are trying to send to an onchain address. In Spark this is an expensive operation requiring multiple taproot transactions. spark to spark and spark to lightning tend to be cheaper.
