Following the Supreme Court's February 2026 ruling that struck down certain tariffs as illegal, Apple is estimated to be in line for a potential refund of approximately $2.5 billion to $3.3 billion for tariffs paid over the past year. While a new CBP tariff refund portal (CAPE) is now open, Apple has not yet officially requested a refund, possibly to avoid political blowback, despite having roughly $3.2 billion in paid tariffs eligible for repayment.

Apple's Situation: Apple has paid over $3.3 billion in tariffs, and while they may be among the biggest beneficiaries of this, they are facing pressure from the administration not to apply for these refunds.

Amazon and Microsoft have not currently filed for tariff refunds.

What are investors thoughts when companies don’t apply for Tariffs refunds?

    1. The rule of law has started to evaporate so this isn’t surprising.  They have a lot more to lose than gain from pissing off the administration.

    2. I invest in companies that will maximize shareholder returns. All companies should ask for refunds if they are owed. Trump isn’t going to punish all of them.

    3. Looks like an instant shareholder lawsuit to me. I can’t believe there aren’t enterprising lawyers out there who would pass up on the opportunity.

Tariffs ran for about a year, $3.3B is 0.79% of apples annual revenue. Then they’ll have to pay taxes on it. Can you imagine caring about a 0.8%

Maybe they will and maybe they don’t, but finally the day I was hoping for came, and people can see how minuscule tariffs are as a chunk of the retail price you pay in store

The number for Walmart by the way is 1.3% of revenue, I think most people would have guessed prices would go up by 20%
