Either all or at least some of the costs of tariffs were passed on to consumers. Yet consumers won't be the ones getting money back. None at all. All of the extra costs consumers paid associated with tariffs will be refunded to corporations. Why isn't this a big story or at least being made into an issue by the Democrats? I assume Americans like money. Why isn't anyone making a fuss?
Do Americans understand a massive transfer of wealth is underway with tariff refunds?

If someone could sort out those companies who had a larger than median % of sales getting tariffs, I’d appreciate seeing that list as I believe it has actionable information.
Because we are use to the corruption. Nothing. Ever. Happens.
I am but what can we do? It’s warming up, when it’s hot outside, protests are more likely to turn into riots. Trump’s support among the young is very low. It could get ugly, but we’ll see. People are just taking it for now.
Maybe because half the population can’t even spell tariff. Many probably believe other countries paid them and democrats are funded by the same corporations as republicans.
Dude, it’s been going on for decades and only accelerating.
Our political/economic system is optimized to look after business interests rather than the American people. This is why:
– Banks get bailouts while Americans lose homes
– Automakers get bailouts while Americans lose jobs
– Businesses get PPP loans while Americans get layoffs
– Corporations get tariff refunds while Americans pay more
The list goes on and on.
Whenever we talk about American interests, we’re not talking about the American people, we’re talking about American BUSINESS interests.
Us Americans can go pound sand.
Yes
Is this the 2026 version of the PPP loan bailouts?
I’m not happy about it but it’s outside of my locus of control
Corporations increased prices to compensate for tariffs.
Corporations got a tariff refund.
And of course, China paid…??? Privatizing profits, socializing losses.
Did you know we had a chance to bail out homeowners after the ’08-09 financial crisis, but instead we chose to bail out criminal banks at negative interest? The executive of the modern state is nothing but a committee for handling the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie. The ruling class that are the corporate elite benefits itself alone vis-a-vis the state apparatus. The average joe is fleeced time and time again. This is also why Trump could ram through these tarriffs that alleged to punish “other countries” when in reality there were no ramifications for anyone other than the average wage slave; meanwhile, Biden tried to push for college debt relief in the slowest, least efficacious way possible, only to result in no debt relief for working folks.
The game is fucking rigged, man.
Our President put a 15% sales tax on all imports. He called it a tariff because most people would understand sales tax but maybe not tariff. Costs get passed along to the final purchaser. Because it was done by Presidential whim and not by consulting the commerce department it was ripe to be overturned. Refunds will go to the “ Importer of Record” because that is who Customs billed when clearing an inbound shipment. Nothing stopping big retailers from having a tariff refund sale.
