I’m an international student and have just 1 credit card to my name.

    – Use less than or upto 35% of my credit limit of 2k

    – pay off the card twice a month

    – once b/w 17-19 and the next b/w 30-3

My main concern is that my credit score stays the same between 720-730 and I’m kinda confused as I follow all the basics yet still am stuck in the loop.

Any tips and advices to increase my score would really help!!

Tha k you in advance for giving my post your time n thoughts!

    1. What source(s) are you using to track your scores? If it’s VantageScores from the likes of Credit Karma, ignore it. Track your FICO scores, as it is less volatile + more relevant.

Payoff off your card 2x a month does nothing for your score, but if it helps with budgeting or mitigate overspending, by all means go for it. Otherwise, pay 1x a month in the form of the statement balance (monthly bill) before the due date will be the same.

Time and “paid as agree” builds credit- this is a marathon, not a sprint.

    2. Pay your bill on time, every single month.

      Wait.

The longer you do this, the better your score will be. The length of your credit history is a factor in your score.

Why are you watching your score like this?
