They’re Lying to You About Oil Prices

They are lying to you about oil prices right now. You see oil under $100 and think everything is fine. But that is paper oil. That is the market price. If you actually want to buy real oil in the real world, especially at scale, the price can be far higher.

That spread matters, and when the gap between paper prices and real world prices gets too wide, it can be a warning sign for the economy.

This is why I keep saying the market is not the economy, and the economy is not the market. Maybe nothing happens tomorrow. Maybe markets keep ignoring reality for a while. But when charts say one thing and the real world says another, I pay attention.

Do you think oil is telling us something bigger is coming?
