Just got a quoted payout of $693 for an accident where the other person was 100% at fault causing $8500 worth of damage to a 2019 Acura RDX. This was the first offer so I already emailed back asking how they came up with the methodology for the payout (they rent me a full report on how the calculations happened initially but nothing about real market value). Car they estimated was worth $25,500 prior to the accident. Is this worth pursuing an appraisal for, or is this a decent payout based on the age of the car..? It was a higher trim Acura and never been wrecked before. 77k miles.
We have young kids, are in the process of moving, and just wondering if anything else is worth my time here.
$693 diminished value payout on $8500 worth of damage – thoughts?

You’ll get varied answers here, but I am surprised you were offered anything on an 8 year old vehicle. Personally I’d be happy with it.
A typical DV claim is 10% of the repair value on a newer vehicle. Surprised you are offered $8,500 on a 8 year old one.
