I know it's not much. But it’s all my mom could spare me. It’s been months since I’ve had an actual job and I’m really trying to find something new. They always tell me how much they love me as a candidate at the interviews but I NEVER actually get a call back. I’m actually looking into donating plasma just to get by( Ive never done it before). But for now I’m just going to use what I have. I'm guessing I'll have to buy things in bulk. I don't really know how to cook. So I need things that are easy to prepare, I usually shop at Jewel Osco or ALDI.

I have 40 bucks for food how can I stretch this to last me atleast a month

    1. PLEASE look into local food pantries and banks

for spending, bulk rice and dried beans are a good bet

    2. Strawberry_Aria on

Id suggest shopping at grocery outlet the amount of deals that can be found is absolutely insane and also I agree with the other comment food banks are life savers and there’s no shame

    3. Also for ideas, help, referrals, options contact all the St. Vincent de Paul Society at local Catholic churches

      Call 211 or website findHelp.org

    4. You need to associate yourself with a food bank. Really. It’s there to feed you and others. Go. You have to be nourished. Then, as for the $40, but no food that comes packaged in a box with a brand name. Shop carefully for fruits and vegetables. The food bank will score you some rice, or pasta, or peanut butter, or tuna. Go there first. Then plan to stretch it with fresh fruit and vegetables purchased on sale! If you like peas, stick with frozen. But not buttered and spiced and cooked and microwavable. This month, that’s no on your budget.
