Both the spouse and I are avid coffee drinkers. Normally purchase Folgers classic roast. Purchase the 33.7 oz cans. The average price is around 20, at Walmart, BJ’s Wholesalers, Price Chopper, etc.

I have seen different brands at cheaper prices. Done up to a 6 dollar difference. Some are house brands like the Pics brand at Price Chopper.

While we would like to save some money we do not want to purchase a cheaper brand that we find undrinkable. Yes, I know when it comes to coffee it is a matter of taste, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Recommendations on cheaper but drinkable coffee.

    1. I really love Aldi’s brand of coffee. IDK the maximum size they sell the containers in.

    2. That’s as cheap as you can go. If you had a Costco then you could get Folgers cheaper. This is not an area you need to cut further. In fact if you grind your own beans you can get a higher quality coffee for a cheaper price at Costco. (Folgers is still technically cheaper at Costco but I’m comparing your current prices but why drink pond water). You either can switch to something like black tea if you are looking for something cheaper or just quit drinking coffee. Those are your only options.

Edit: Aldi is a good place for a cheap store brand

I don’t have any brand recommendations, I usually try to find what’s on sale. But, if I buy cheap coffee that is hard to drink, it sprinkle some cinnamon in the grounds before I brew it. Helps a ton!

    4. Panera sip club has saved me a ton of money especially when you can find coupon codes for half off regularly.  I fill up two 20 oz when I go every morning.  My wife does the same.

I’m honestly not trying to be a jerk here. I’d normally suggest roasting your own beans to save money.

But If you drink folgers already, it really can’t get much worse. That’s some really not great coffee. You might as well drink the cheapest store brand. I can’t imagine there’s that much of a difference.

there is a brand called Harmony Bay, that comes in large bags, is Arabica, and is often cheaper than the plastic canisters per pound.

We like 8 o’clock (18.98/40 oz) and Chock Full-o Nuts (17.13/48 oz current sale price). I order them both from the Sam’s app. Both are good enough bargain coffees. Way better than Folgers which I can barely drink and never buy.
