Hey everyone,
I’m planning to take the SAT and I want to prepare properly instead of just studying randomly. I’d appreciate advice on:
- What exactly should I study?
- How should I structure my preparation?
- When is the best time to take the SAT?
- What are the most common mistakes students make?
- What official resources are actually worth using?
From what I understand so far, the SAT tests:
- Math (algebra, problem solving, some advanced topics)
- Reading & Writing (grammar, comprehension, reasoning)
But I’m not sure how deep I should go into each area or how to practice efficiently.
Also, I’ve seen people mention official practice tests and resources from the College Board, but I’m not sure what the full list of “must-use” materials is.
If anyone has a solid roadmap or experience (especially if you improved your score significantly), I’d really appreciate your guidance.
Thanks in advance.
How should I prepare for the SAT? (resources, timing, mistakes to avoid)

start with official practice tests to see where you actually stand, then focus heavy on your weak areas instead of trying to cover everything equally
