I have exhausted the life of my Hp pavilion x360, and I am now looking for a laptop that I will be able to use both for gaming and studies as I will start my first year of uni next year. I am looking for a laptop that will be able to comfortably run all of the games I want to play ( like crimson desert and fry cry 6 etc ). But I also want to by one that is cost effective and will last me for atleast a decade. I have looked at laptops such as the Lenovo Legion but thats too expensive. and I also went on made in china to look for laptops šš

In order to help you decide which laptop to buy, it would help knowing what your budget is.
A few budget-friendly laptops that may fit your needs is the ASUS TUF Dash 15, the Acer Nitro V, or the MSI Thin A15.
None. Laptop is a luxury. You get more out of a desktop. Laptops are soderned together.
since portability is a concern I would get something smaller like a 14″ unit. 16″ units are just too damn unwieldy if you ask me. I have also learned a lot of windows laptops have issues with the screen hinges breaking so look for one where the hinge is NOT just two tabs of plastic. I like the hinge to run the entire width of the screen.
I picked up an ASUS ROG G14. It is *very* mac-like in it’s build, which I prefer. It runs modern games pretty well. But like any gaming laptop you really need to be plugged in. If you do go this route, look at the 3rd party “GHelper” app to tweak the machine and remove all the ASUS crap.
Costco has good prices but limited choices. I ended up getting mine at BestBuy and bought the membership for the long price match guarantee, which I did end up using.
Man, I wish it was easier to game on a MacBook. It seems like the best value for capability and longevity right now is something with Apple Silicon in it. š¤· š¤¦āāļø
Iām probably never going to get my dream gaming rig to be able to play COD at 4K120. š
