If this didn't happen to me, I would not have believed it.

For context, I live in NY, I have a 19 year old son who lives with me, we live on the first floor of a legal 2 family house.

Yesterday afternoon, my upstairs neighbor calls me, and they're quite upset. Their insurance just renewed, and their bill went up significantly. When they logged into their account to see what the new charges were, my 19 year old was listed as a new driver on their policy. They didn't add him. I didn't add him. My kid is actually on his other parent's insurance, which is Geico. I called the other parent and confirmed that the kid is still insured, he is. I have USAA. How did Progressive do this? What are the potential ramifications? And how does one file a complaint against an insurance company they don't use? Also, WTF?

    Progressive WTF?!?!

    1. Your neighbor neglected to open their mail where they asked to confirm or deny if your son lived at that address with them. You should check this sub – progressive isn’t the only insurance company that does this. This didn’t happen out of the blue, there were multiple notifications that were ignored. There are no “ramifications”, your neighbor needs to call in and have take the steps to have him removed.
