I’m not sure if this is the right place for this but I just got in a wreck on my e-bike , I was driving straight going maybe 20mph in the bike lane when a parked car opened his door, making me run into his door flying off the front of the handle bars . Luckily a police officer seen it all & the driver took fault I have a police report & I was taken to the ER. My first accident what are my steps to contact insurance for settlement?

No rush. Get medical treatment and heal. Get a copy of the police/incident report and it will have their insurance information. Just google the company and most let you start a claim online.
First step is to get treated by a doctor and figure out what your injuries are. Then make contact with the insurer so that they know that you intend to make a claim. Then focus on healing. If your injuries are not severe, you can likely handle this yourself without any help from an attorney, although you might want to consult one to make sure you understand the process. They will take 30-40% of the settlement, so if that number is going to be small, it’s not worth it. But if you have life-changing injuries, like a TBI, spinal injuries, broken bones, etc., then a personal injury attorney is probably a much better idea because they can add significantly more value to you.
