It occurred to me that four milestones were reached by Bitcoin within just the last 6 months:
- 5% BTC left to be mined: November 17, 2025
- 2^29 seconds old: January 8, 2026
- 9M minutes (150K hours) old: February 13, 2026
- 1 million BTC left to be mined: March 9, 2026
I can think of only a handful of other (admittedly human-centric) milestones left to hit that will occur within the next couple of years:
- 6500 days old: October 21, 2026
- Block 1,000,000 to be mined: April-May 2027 (rough estimate)
- 10M minutes (600M seconds) old: January 9, 2028
- Block 2^20 to be mined: April 2028 (rough estimate)
- 5th Halving (Block 1,050,000): April 2028 (rough estimate)
They are certainly not quite as clustered as the last 4 events, but they are interesting milestones nonetheless. Can you think of any others that I have missed that will occur within the next 2 years?

None of those are major milestones. Here are major milestones: used by at least 25% of people in developed countries (adoption required to last); price volatility for one year <5% (stability for usability); 50% of HODL for savings (speculation) and all threads about it stop. The rest are numerical games, not milestones because milestones are literally markers on a route to a destination.
