I noticed CSR nerfed their redemption for points boost hotel/airline. So I wanted to see if this was still the best card or if there were better options. I plan to cancel either Amex Plat or Chase Reserve or both this year to manage annual fees.

I swapped my CSR to Amex plat and gold combo and I feel like I’m getting more points. I also mainly fly delta 99% of the time and have delta gold card for the 15% discount, which makes the switch more useful.
I am surprised with your travel spend & preferences for hotels you cannot make the CSR work—but credit cards are indeed personal.
If the CSR gets any worse, I will likely look at the Autograph Journey. If I was an AA person, either the Strata Premier or Elite.
I also think the Fidelity card paired with the Autograph or Journey is a strong combo.
Disclosure: I live at a United hub, so I have the Chase Club card for flights and lounge access. I have the BofA PRE, and will not be impacted by the nerf.
