Broke college student trying to meal and portion prep while saving money and living sustainably.

I want to portion ground beef and freeze it, optimally this would be done in ziplock bags but I can’t handle the waste guilt + microplastics ig. Reusable silicon ziplocks can be hard to close and are generally difficult to clean and I don’t know how well I trust them to hold raw meat. Glass containers are expensive and I’m scared to stack them in the freezer because I’m clumsy. I could buy plastic containers, again pretty much the same issue as the ziplocks but at least I could reuse them.

I do buy things like yogurt but the containers from that are a bit too big and I think would take up a lot of space.

Any recommendations/advice would be very appreciated!

What can I put my food in to freeze it?

I mean you’ve outlined the two possibilities.
Although Instead of ziplock bags just use the tie handles. I’ve always used these and they store well. They freeze quite well also as they mold into the available gaps.

We also use plastic containers that we’ve recycled from our dog food branding and have reused and reused for the last several years.
They however take up more space.

If saving the world is your consideration, opt for the tie handle plastic food bags as there’s less packaging.
