I’ve never heard any paper being more trashed on than motley. Only read couple articles from them they seemed very generic, not sure what all the fuzz is about
I owned TMFC for a few years. It did well. That indicated to me that they know their stuff, so I subscribed. They picked some good ones that did well, like up over 100%, but no “ten baggers”, as they like to say. I dropped it.
Check out Stock Gumshoe. He teases out the names of the secret stock picks, and provides some grounding around them – not just for Motley Fool, but several hype machines.
Is there any substance to the idea that there’s a price bump after a ticker is mentioned favourably on Motley Fool?
I think it’s a good place to get ideas and some analysis. You just need to critically evaluate each recommendation for yourself. I’ve paid for them off and on. I’ve lost the most money when I blindly follow their recs and made the most money when I combined their recs and my personal expertise.
Looks like trash
I use Yahoo Finance free and it populates a lot of articles from Motley Fool and Zacks. Apple News includes the Wall Street Journal, Barrons, Morning Star, Investor’s Business Daily and Zacks.
Seeking Alpha all you need check top etfs and stocks make your combo sit back and relaxx. Those analysts only posted when the ticker already on the roof,Just look at quant+philosophy+economic trends/themes and make your own choices.OR just buy VOO
You’d be hard pressed to find any service of this type worth purchasing.
No, get the FT, WSJ or bloomberg
You probably would have better luck hiring a homeless man to pick stocks for you.
