I just creatively folded, cut, and glued a big box fillied with candy and added some twine.
Big box stores want between $25 and $40 for a piñata; often depending on the populatity of the character it is depicting.
Trust me when I say the kids didn't take two looks at this homemade abomination before unleashing on it.
This was part of a 9 year old's birthday party. Otherwise I bought some balls and toys from $5 below (by the way it's up to ten dollars for stuff there now); plus Costco pizza and cake and pop.

What is it supposed to be?
So you made a piñata basically the same way they do.
They charge for time and labor, plus they have more experience making different shapes. Other than that you just did It yourself.
I feel sorry for your kids.
