Admitting that my salon habit is becoming a massive budget leak but the thought of doing it myself is terrifying. Looking for an affordable at home hair dye without ruining my bathroom or turning my hair green.
And yes ive already tried the $8 boxes from the supermarket and they always leave my hair feeling like straw and smelling chemicals and dry as hell. I have seen people talk about subscription color services that bridge the gap between drugstore and salon but are they actually worth the extra few dollars? what has worked best for you to save money on hair maintenance without looking like you did it in the dark?

For me?
I save money on hair care by wearing it long (only needs a trim once a year), and embracing the grey. It doesn’t matter what colour my hair is.
What colour are you trying to achieve?
I really enjoy the Ion brand. I find it at Sally’s beauty supply store. Ever since Covid I’ve learned to cut my own hair, embrace my natural color, and style myself. Same with mani/pedi… Proud of you for wanting to start saving!! 🙌🏼
