I feel like everyone in crypto has that one mistake they'll never repeat – buying at the top, trusting the wrong project, or panic selling.

What’s one crypto mistake you learned the hard way?

Never think buying Bitcoin now is the wrong time, or thinking that i am too late .. I did that in 2012, and only started buying in 2017

The biggest mistake of the vast majority of newbies, including OP of this engagement post, is not understanding the difference between Bitcoin and crypto.

Chasing pumps. Bought into hype after a big move thinking it would keep going, then watched it drop right after. Now I wait, let things cool off, and stick to a plan instead of reacting.

Buying on pull backs during a bull run…. there’s always a big crash waiting around the corner to give you a better price.

First biggest regret: just watching prices and never buying. I started following Bitcoin when it was 500-1000 a coin. I remember thinking that 10k a coin was impossible and that maybe when it crashed to 50 a coin I’d buy a little. When McAfee said it was going to 100k and beyond I thought he was insane.

Second and related to the first point, once I started buying I tried to swing trade and then buy back in at the bottom instead of just DCAing.

If I was doing it again I’d still play with some swing trading but I’d have a large don’t touch DCA stack as a base and I wouldn’t trade with all my crypto all the time. I wouldn’t be afraid to buy at the peak of prices to keep adding to my stack. I would have just figure out some type of dynamic DCA thing instead of sitting on the sidelines waiting for a crash.

For the record though I never regretted buying alt coins. There were some really cool projects that I’m glad I learned about and invested in. I would have made ‘alts’ only 25% of the portfolio though not 50-75%.
