I was cleaning up my room earlier and found a couple of things I ordered months ago that I barely even used. It kind of hit me that I don’t even remember why I wanted them so bad at the time. I guess it felt important in the moment, but now it just feels like clutter.

For me it usually happens when I’m just scrolling with no real purpose. Like after a long day, I’ll lie down and start browsing, telling myself I’m not going to buy anything… then somehow I end up checking out anyway. It’s not even big purchases, just a lot of small ones that add up.

I also notice I tend to click into random sites or pages while scrolling. At one point I saw something called PromoPro UK, didn’t really care for it, but it made me realize how easy it is to just keep clicking and getting pulled into different stuff without thinking.

I’ve tried setting limits for myself but I don’t always stick to them. Just wondering if other people deal with this too, or if you’ve found something that actually helps stop those random impulse buys.

Anyone else randomly regret stuff they bought online later?

I used to have more of an issue with this but am doing better now. the items i buy nowadays that I regret are things I bought to solve an issue that don’t work as intended.

    2. Don’t buy things on a whim (unless it’s an actual emergency or there’s some other overriding reason to get it immediately.) Don’t even put it in your cart.

Put it on your wishlist, wait at least a week. (I’ve also seen one day per $5 or $10 it costs.) If you still feel like you need it after that week, then you can get it.

I’m pretty good about not buying stuff online because I hate returning things. If I buy stuff online, it ususally will be only after careful consideration and the retailer has a brick and mortar store I can return the item to if I need to.

I would buy things on line -easy with a click of the finger it is done deal already. However, many times I regret the things that I have bought and it is too much trouble to return it and some things are not returnable. They just sit there. Many times, it is because I don’t take inventory of what I already have. End up buying double. Guess what you call buyers’ regret. I would be richer and have less clutter if I only think over it for a few days. Sigh.
