My car was damaged by a tow truck driver and he is refusing to give me his insurance information. Unfortunately I don’t have full coverage on my car, so my insurance won’t help me to get his insurance information. Is there a way to find that out and start a claim with his company?

I have filed a police report and they are unwilling to consider it an accident. They consider it property damage.

How to find out who someone has insurance through?

You can look up this information. Google the tow company name and insurance. Alternatively, you can sue in small claims court.

A lot of places it is required to exchange that information, I would consider filing a police report.

Police report. See if your state requires two truck operators to be licensed. If so, send a complaint letter to state licensing authorities with a copy of police report. That should get his attention.

If you have the tow truck plate and/or driver info, file a DMV SR-1 (Report of Traffic Accident or Financial Responsibility) form in your state. The DMV will contact them to complete their side which requires them to disclose their insurance info.
