If your goal is to churn the CSR and not keep it, don’t jump at it just for the elevated SUB. You can triple dip credits if you apply at the end of the year.

So you can either get an extra 25k UR now, OR you can get an extra set of annual/biannual credits including The Edit (500), StubHub (150), and OpenTable dining (150).

That’s 25k UR vs up to $800 in credits if you apply in December 2026 and cancel in January 2028.

Also keep in mind that it’s not possible to get your SUB before the Hyatt deval this month since Chase awards SUBs at the end of your statement period, which will come after the deval if you apply now

      Longer explanation:

The CSR (similar to the Amex plat) offers many different credits that are awarded on an annual/biannual basis. Therefore it’s possible to apply for the card on December of year 1 and cancel January of year 3 to get some credits more than once during the lifetime of you holding the card.

      E.g:

      – December 2026: apply for CSR, use the mentioned credits by the end of the year.

      – January – December 2027: use the credits as normal throughout the year

      – January 2028: use the credits at the beginning of the year and then cancel the card a few days later

Disclaimer: I believe there is a clause in the T&C that says Chase may take away credits if used recently before cancelling the card, but I believe this is not usually enforced. YMMV
