Has anyone filed a diminished value claim after using a mobile mechanic instead of an insurance shop? I need my car fixed fast, but I’m worried used parts/paint work could hurt my payout. Insurance said they need receipts. Worth it or better to wait for a body shop?

But it might not automatically hurt your claim if you have proper receipts and clear documentation. Insurers care more about quality of repair and proof. A body shop is safer for higher payout overall
