Hi everyone,
I’m looking to get into physical commodities brokerage. To be clear, I’m not talking about the corporate/banking side, but rather acting as an independent intermediary connecting buyers and sellers and earning a commission on closed deals.
I am currently based in France. I have the impression that the US market is much more dynamic and "ahead" for this type of independent activity.

from what i’ve seen, the hard part isn’t finding buyers or sellers, it’s building trust and relationships
most independent brokers start super niche first, like one commodity + one region, then grow from there
also be careful, a lot of “broker opportunities” online are basically middleman fantasies with zero real volume behind them
if i were starting, i’d spend time understanding logistics, contracts, and compliance before chasing deals. that’s where most beginners get cooked
