But the down is over 50,000! That’s what we should be talking about!

Well, it’s 49,910 right now, so close!

No one can afford to wash clothes anymore with appliances. Electricity prices are insane.

    3. when things feel shaky, buying a new appliance is the last thing on people’s minds.

It’s kinda hilarious that certain companies have to actually explain that the Iran war is affecting them negatively , because it seems to be the best thing that ever happened to the s+p

Recently bought a washer/dryer combo. Whenever I do a big purchase I always research to make sure the brands I buy will be good (big thanks to reddit as always lol), and while I thought whirlpool and Maytag were great they seemed to have dropped in quality for a while. Ended up getting LG (which surprisingly seems to be one of the best brands out there).

This is what you get for mass producing shitty products.

Looking at the 5Y chart, somehow I think this is not entirely related to the Iran war lmao

Whoa whoa whoa whirlpool, this is in direct contrast to dear leaders sentiment. You may want to get in line before you’re hit with treason charges!

      2. When asked about energy efficiency, point out that more power plants are coming.
      3. ???
      4. Line goes up.

Sooner remove from the consumer sentiment, bigger the gain.

Definitely the Iran war and not the fact that they’re appliances have gone way downhill in terms of quality and longevity.

And this is after they get tariffs to protect them from foreign competition.

Iran washing is no better than ai washing

Shake shack is down -24% this morning while they blame the war on Iran and their international locations. McDonald’s is up 1% on a great report . McDonald’s has more locations in the impacted countries shake shack is complaining about

Basically incompetent management teams have figured out they can just blame Iran and Trump instead of themselves

When appliance makers start using recession-level decline it’s not just an oil story anymore that’s consumer demand destruction showing up in real earnings. Energy shock confidence drops big ticket spending gets hit first. Whirlpool down 20% says the market’s listening.

They had issues before this. The user interface on my washer went out and I waited 6 months because the part was in factory back order. Ended up buying a new washer because I was sick of waiting and I did not go with Maytag….

Whirlpool traded at a higher valuation in 1993 than its trading pre-market today. Yikes.

Who cares. Did you see the DOW. Just pivot to AI, everything will be fine.
