Why wouod they switch to VX? There are much better cards, including Bilt Palladium and the very well knows Amex Plat itself, of course!

The mood swings of Reddit aren’t representative of actual performance by these products and banks. Both AMEX and Chase have consistently talked in earnings calls about how their recent premium travel card strategies have resulted in net increase to both profit and cardholders. People aren’t fleeing.

Why would they switch to VX from Chase? I have both but can break even on Sapphire Reserve just like VX and Capital One has worse transfer partners. The Hyatt devaluation just makes that not the go-to for Chase. Biggest advantage for VX is the 2x daily spend

Most people aren’t all that worried about the minutia of credit card benefits. They get their lounge access and they earn points, and that’s all that matters to them.
Chase and Amex are doing just fine.

Why does everyone, not in the upper echelons of the credit card companies, know what credit card companies are doing profit wise and who are privy to detailed reports and analysis of of who is using their products? Am I missing some source of information?

People are not converting coz Amex plat and Chase reserve are still more premium cards with lots of coupons compared to C1 VX. Also, C1 Vx is not easy approval which makes its adoption difficult. I don’t think people are switching otherwise Amex and Chase would not have seen record profits.

I’m pretty sure the majority of the world uses the same credit card for most purchases, even if they carry 2 or 3 cards. That doesn’t mean the majority have a 2% cash back card or VX. Many have a card they like the perks. For example, my father used a United Explorer card and hard cash for every purchase for many years. I’m sure many people do the same with Amex Platinum.
