I’m currently planning on:
- $1000 comprehensive deductible
- $1000 collision deductible
Trying to keep the premium reasonable since I’m a student and don’t have major savings/assets yet.
I’m mainly confused about:
- BI (bodily injury) limits
- PD (property damage) limits
- UM/UIM bodily injury
Right now I’m debating between:
- 25k/50k BI vs 50k/100k BI or higher
- 25k PD vs 50k PD or higher
- Whether UM/UIM is really worth it in Colorado
I already have health insurance with a decent out-of-pocket max, and I already have collision coverage.
For people in Denver/Colorado:
- What limits do you realistically recommend for someone trying to balance cost vs protection?
- Is 25k PD way too risky nowadays?
- Do most people actually carry UM/UIM here?
Would appreciate real-world experiences and what you personally chose.
Trying to finalize my auto insurance in Denver/Colorado and need some advice on liability limits and uninsured coverage.

100/300/100 should be the min you even consider. If you price that you could go down to 50/100/100 but if the savings is like $5 a month don’t do it.
