I currently have a JetBlue master card that I use on most of my purchases, therefore have lots of True Blue points. However, I have been thinking, and I want to switch to a credit card that has more flexibility with which airlines I can use, but I also want to be able to book directly through the airline so that in case there are any issues I don’t get faced with “oh, you booked with a third party, so we can’t help you”. Does such a card exist? My bank is Chase if that helps, but I am open to using other bank’s credit cards as well for this need.

How much are you willing to pay in fees? The WF Autograph is a great one for 3x on direct bookings with no fee, all the way up to the Amex Platinum for 5x at $895.
And are you looking for something you can also use for every day spending, or just bookings? What other perks are you looking for?
cards don’t restrict you to only using them on their travel portals. you can just ignore the portals
Wells Fargo seems like the move. Their points transfer to JetBlue, along with a few other airlines, and they also transfer to Choice Hotels and Wyndham if you want to use them for that. In addition, the Autograph Journey gets you 4x points on direct airline bookings for $95 a year.
