I started tracking every small expense and it helped me realize how much money I was wasting on random purchases. Cooking at home more often buying store brands and waiting a day before impulse purchases have saved me a lot. Using cashback apps and canceling subscriptions I barely use also made a big difference. What are your best ways to save money without feeling miserable doing it?

Best ways to me is automate it….
First, do a budget.
2nd, decide up front how much you are going to save.
3rd, decide what you are cutting back on.
… that’s month 1.
Month 2 and 3: review statements, and see where to cut back. And then auto save the cut back.
After this, I’d like your life so you are not miserable if you save first. You don’t have it to spend. So if you account hits zero, it’s cause you have over spent.
This mentality and never touching my savings is an absolute blessing and prioritising savings.
If you want to look to save more; I just review monthly via my account, and I keep my food receipts and check if I’ve wasted money.
Asking if there are any discounts offered that I may be qualified for. I’m surprised at how many times I’ve been given a senior discount that I wouldn’t have known was available had I not asked.
Automating savings helped me most… even tiny automatic transfers add up fast because you stop relying on willpower. Also, avoiding “cheap” impulse buys saved more money than cutting big expenses sometimes. Those random snacks, subscriptions, and online deals quietly drain cash over time.
