Fucked. The upper and upper middle are doing fine. Below that and you can barely scrape by if you can even survive.
The under $30 restaurants? Empty.
The $50+ places? PACKED
No wonder. Want an omelette and hash browns in California? $25. All bills rising. All pay flat. Give me 10+ years experience for an entry level position that doesn’t even pay entry level wages.
The upper middle won’t be doing ok for very much longer. The poorer among us soon won’t have any reason to continue working because it’s not even going to meet their basic needs. That’s when the real protests and rioting starts. Then soldiers come out to “maintain order.”
Maybe they’ll hold elections, if they think they have any hope of winning. There will be soldiers present to prevent people from voting. There will be bombs and bomb threats dropped by the government to disrupt democratic strongholds.
Not that the democrats are actually much better. Remember when Obama came in? Remember how he changed all that stuff we were so upset about during Bush? Only the rhetoric changed. All Biden did was clean up the economic mess a bit. Nothing else changed.
The real problem is the “republic.” The legally immune people who represent the “deep state.” I assume Trump is one of them. That’s why he can brazenly break the law in public and thinks any restraint on his power is “unconstitutional.” The supremes, also likely legally immune, agree to protect their own privilege.
This is why there will never be justice for raped children. The government gave up the right to prosecute these people.

I don’t understand why people are complaining about it.
Trump told everyone what he was going to do with tarrifs and even outlined in “project 2026”. Expects came out and said it will fuck the economy and be bad for businesses and everyone but America voted for the pedophile and if you didn’t vote at all, you essentially voted for him also.
America has a chance to make it right in the midterms but the rest of us around the world aren’t holding our breath because Americans have shown the rest of the world that they are pretty fucking stupid by voting in Trump for the second time round.

Don’t sink into bleak nihilism and “both sides” rehtoric. That’s how people like Trump win. Obama wasn’t perfect, but he was infinitely better than Trump. We got new, stricter environmental standards. We got an infrastructure boom in the wake of the GFC. And of course we got the ACA which was a once-in-a-generation reform of a totally broken healthcare system. Thanks to Obama, millions of people in this country now have health insurance who previously couldn’t access it. That includes lots of people with pre-existing conditions who used to be legally barred from insurance markets. Now people with cancer have a far more affordable chance to get treatment.
What has Trump accomplished? A huge tax cut that overwhelmingly benefited the rich and corporations. A bunch of incoherent and destructive policy done more for optics than any substantial reason. And of course, now we have an illegal war which we’re all going to pay for in a number of different ways. One president helps broke ass cancer patients, one helps himself and his rich and powerful friends at the expense of everyone else. So knock it off with this “Democrats aren’t any better” bullshit. They are infinitely better at governance.
Bernie was an option, he isn’t president.
