Apple & Intel have ‌reached a preliminary agreement for Intel to manufacture some of the ​chips that power the ​iPhone maker's devices, the Wall ⁠Street Journal reported on ​Friday, citing people familiar with the ​matter.

    Intensive talks between the two companies have been underway for more ​than a year, and they ​hammered out a formal deal in ‌recent ⁠months, the report said.

      6 years ago Intel made 20-something billion in operating income  Now its basically 0. 

      And the stock price is 3x as high.

      Big move… market clearly likes the narrative. If true, it’s a strong signal for Intel’s foundry story and long-term positioning. Short term though, a 17% spike can bring some pullback or consolidation. Good news, just worth watching how price behaves after the initial reaction
