I’ve had quite the run up on Tech Stocks I bought in Nov 2022 such as $12k AMZN +200%, $30k AIQ +200%, and a few that just gained well the past few months $11k XYZ +55%, $9k IGV +11% that I just turned to VOO.
I have a few more that I’m greedy on that I want to turn to VOO. $33k $META +555%, $11k $FLUT -4%, $5k $EUAD 0%, $6.8kTTWO +12%
Everything’s ATH’s, I make educated guesses by reading financials/gut feels but I don’t know wtf I’m doing and I think regardless of what happens I need to be grateful I’ve had this run up and be more conservative and defended long term.
What’s your opinion on selling All Tech Heavy Stocks soon and moving to SP500 $VOO?

Just set stops and watch them. Every time I sell tech stocks they go to aths.
Smart move
Yeah so I have RKLB and my account just hit 200k so I trimmed a large portion and was thinking of DCAing into indexes as well now. I also don’t know everything and figured I have a great opportunity at age 33, where most of my account came from one stock running up
Depending on how many shares you have, start selling calls on them to squeeze a bit more where you can.
Not good
The market is very positive regarding the mag 7, so it could easily go much higher in the next few months. You could take some profit and move it into VOO. I wouldn’t necessarily sell everything at once.
Brother semiconductors are like 25% of the S&P now. There’s no way off the runaway train.
Buying low and selling high…. It’s… it’s crazy enough it just might work!
Euad is such a sleep!!!
Glad i sold it one month ago
Why would you diversify away from something that works?
Did you purchase all of these in November 2022? If so, your tax bite will be at the long term rate, significantly lower versus the short term rate. Also, another factor is the State you live in, i.e., if it is an income tax State, you need to account for that as well.
I’ll give you an example (myself), where the tax man taketh, e.g., I was living in CA a few years ago and my additional tax bill was: Feds – $56k; and, CA – $18k . . . Again, this is ON TOP OF WHAT I NORMALLY PAID THEM. One reason why I live in WA today, as they only have property taxes and sales tax.
I’m keeping my AI stocks for 10 years
I have 50% in VOO, 20% in VZ, and 30% in tech. Happy all around.
VOO is a tech heavy ETF lol
why would you want to pay taxes in order to do that? i would just hold the ones you believe in long term and the ones you don’t believe in anymore consolidate into VOO
