Bought in 2016/2017. I have a whole coin. But I'm kinda getting sick of HODLing. 2025/2026 hasn't had the massive bullrun we were promised. Avg price is maybe about $60,000 as I averaged up as well. SIGH. Should I just wait til we hit like $500k?

Should I still keep my bitcoin or sell?

    1. I don’t see the point in selling if you don’t desperately need the funds…

Do whatever you want, but don’t feel sorry if the train is leaving the station without you.

Sell to do what? If you have a better investment in mind (starting your own business, etc.) sure, otherwise doesn’t make much sense to sell now, at least do it after an ATH or something.

The real question isn’t whether bitcoin hits $500k. It’s whether you’re still holding from conviction, or just waiting to be rescued by a number.

Those are not the same thing.

If you’re sick of HODLing lol, that’s already useful information. Not because it means you should panic-sell, but because an asset you can only hold by white-knuckling usually starts owning you.

People frame this as keep or sell, as if those are the only two moves. They aren’t. The harder question is what part of your position is real long-term conviction, what part is fatigue, and what selling would actually change in your life right now.

Price targets are the easy part. Exit logic is the hard part.

If you want, I can show the framework I’d use to think it through without pretending anyone can call the perfect top.

unless u need the money I don’t see a world where anyone would sell their bitcoin

Why would you expect a inmediate massive bull run after its ~50% crash?? The time to sell at its ATH was 2025’s first half, we might not see a much better ATH until 2028-2029 which is where I would start liquidating my position each month
