I noticed I have a bad habit of buying things “just in case,” leaving them unopened for a while, then completely forgetting about them until the return window is gone.
Same with warranties and receipts. By the time something breaks, I either can’t find the receipt or forgot I even had coverage.
Started wondering how frugal people actually manage this stuff.
Do you guys track return deadlines/warranties somehow, or just accept the occasional loss?
I’ve probably lost more money from forgotten returns than I want to admit

Stop buying so much crap that you can’t even keep track and forget to return things.
And keep your warranty information in a binder so it’s all in the same place.
Frugal people don’t buy a bunch of crap they don’t need. They spend money with intention so as to get the most out of their dollar. There is a simple solution here.
I do this and I’ve lost so much money over my lifetime .. turns out I have adhd. I think it will always be a challenge for me, but if you post a question like this on an active ADHD forum you will likely get good suggestions of life hacks that can help.
