Would it be illegal to offer a company the opportunity to buy a bad article vs. releasing it?

I wrote an article on a company. This article exposes this company on shady practices they are doing.
What they are doing is not illegal just unethical. They are taking advantage of a loyal niche following. This will certainly affect the companies image in the industry.

If I were to go to the CEO and offer him a chance to buy the article from me, is this illegal?
It feels illegal.

I’m just curious I’m not actually doing this.
