I just got my new Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card that the Barclays Aviator Red card got turned into. The thing is, I already held a Citi AA Platinum Select card, so now I have two of them. I am thinking that maybe Citi customer service will throw people like me a bone and grant some kind of PC exception, allowing me to change it to a non-AA card. Obviously I have no need for two AA cards and I hope I get that point across to them.
I'll try it out and report back if I hear good news, but I'm wondering if anybody has tried this already, plans on requesting the same thing, or if you think it's a waste of time? Regardless of whether it's a waste or not at this moment, it is my hope that if enough people in my same situation request the same thing, that they may make it a temporary policy to allow.
Hoping for exception to Citi's rules regarding AA product change – am I wasting my time?
