Citi custom cash doesn’t count Home Depot as home improvement?

weird that menards works but home depot doesn’t – i’ve had similar issues with different stores not coding properly for the categories. sometimes it depends on what specific department you bought from or even which register processes the payment.

had this happen before where same store chain would code differently at different locations. might be worth calling customer service to see if they can manually adjust it, especially if you have receipt showing it was clearly home improvement stuff. some people have had luck getting these coding errors fixed after the fact.

could also try using a different payment method at home depot in future if this becomes regular thing. really annoying when you plan your spending around specific categories and then bank decides nah.
