Why is it so hard for Americans to change their lifestyle just a little bit?
I see Americans complaining about the price of low quality junk food and soda.. like why not just stop buying those products?
Like a bag of chips is $5. I can get a pound of ground beef for $5-$6. Why not buy real food instead of overpriced junk food? Like is it that hard to make little changes?
Like why are Americans loyal to corporations that truly don’t care about them? I understand, It’s nice to have a bag of chips or some ice cream once in a while as a treat but when stuff is so expensive it’s not worth it to buy that stuff all the time.
Like I hear Americans complain all the time about the price of soda? And it’s like then stop buying it.
So many Americans complain about the prices of food, toys, cars, and everything else… but they keep feeding the same corporations that raise them.

Where do you hear Americans complaining about the price of soda?
I don’t buy junk food, not because of price but because I prefer to eat real food. It’s mind boggling how many people subsist on highly processed foods. And don’t get me started on soda, which is probably the worst food you can put in your body. I drink water and coffee, that’s it.
So many health problems could be eliminated if everyone ate real, whole food and eliminated all the chemicals. Our food is killing us, it affects your body and mind.
All food is going up, not just junk food. Sure beef might be cheaper than chips, but that beef has gotten more expensive at the same rate as the chips have. Switching to cheaper substitutes only fixes the problem in the short term. There is a larger systemic issue at play.
I am going to stop eating, stop driving to earn money, and sell my toys so I enjoy nothing. Americans are loyal to corporations because we live in an oligopoly.

The raindrop doesn’t see itself as the flood. The consumer’s actions are so loud, I can’t hear what they’re saying.
The most addictive things are the ones you never needed until you had them.
Pound of ground beef is 10
Hey guys! Americans dumb, fat and bad!!! Can you please clap?
For a lot of people, they spend so much time working and preparing for work that they have little time to dedicate to preparing actual meals. Buying real food sounds great, until it takes time to make it into a meal.
When your life revolves around work, it gets harder to justify doing the “smart” thing when taking the easy route buys you just a little more time to not be in a state of working. Preparing dinner is work, meal prep for the week is work, cleanup is work.
Alot complaining also dont vote.
Oh well
The basic answer is *most* people have cut back on junk food. They just also complain about it being necessary to do.
Pepsi Co (who owns Lays) just complained last quarter about sales being down because people arent eating buying chips and pop anymore. I cut chips and pop years ago but most people have only started to do so in the last year because our buying power is abysmal now.
We can’t all live on Costco hotdogs and Arizona tea.
Everything is going up (except those apparently)
Common Seppo L.
A lot of people can’t afford those things though. Especially cars, houses, etc. Food prices squeeze low-income workers the most. I would ask the same thing in reverse: why don’t we affordable options for non-millionaires?
1) prices for nearly everything are increasing.
2) back in 2008 and then again in 2020, after much debate, the consensus was reached that YES people can make a change by boycotting, but because completely opting out of commerce isn’t an option for 99.9% of people, companies really ought to stop being greedy fuckwads and maybe they should show some civic pride and a sense of responsibility toward their fellow citizens when times are tough.
If we have to pay more, we should be propping up and buying from local small businesses/farmers 🤷🏽♂️
Cuz the corps out entirely.
Because we have been conditioned to use those products. There have been decades where all this has turned into convenience and people like convenience. Is it better and to buy tomatoes and cucumbers and make a quick salad yes but you have spend time. It’s easier to go the the drive through and get a burger and fries and a coke.
Safeway had this promotion where you buy two six of soda and get 3 free, 3 free its like they want you to have diabetes
As corporate consolidation and monopolizing gets worse and worse, it’s harder than ever to avoid buying from a big bad business. You’d practically have to go off the grid and become a homesteader, which also has obvious downsides especially for people busy with work and school.
