My girlfriend lives in CA with me. She has a car registered in CA. She was in Florida visiting her kids. Her son drove her car and was at fault in an accident. The other party may sue. The car is in my girlfriend's name, so she is liable. We are getting married in one month, in California. Will MY assets be liable once we get married, even though the accident happened before we were married?

Was she insured at the time?
Do you have a lot of assets? Was it a major accident? Talk to an actual lawyer, not Reddit.
Is she using her insurance, or is she trying to keep her rates from going up?
