American living overseas. I've had the United Club Card for a long time. Before COVID I frequently traveled Star Alliance airlines. Since COVID, this has been minimal. Travel back to US has also been minimal, but will likely pick up over the next few years. Overall, the occasional free ticket I claim from Star Alliance points earned thru the United card have offset the annual fee (not include soft benefits like travel/car rental ins!).
Recently a friend suggested I look at the Alaska Air Atmos Rewards card. It looked appealing enough and with a 50% travel discount voucher upon signup, I applied for the card. We are trying to lock in travels to the US in July. The travel voucher could be nice. Turns out this card is thru Bank of America. For new account applicants, they require visiting a BoA branch to confirm ID. This isn't possible for me.
Now I'm back to square one. I've looked at Chase Sapphire Reserve, CapOne Venture X and SavorOne. When it comes down to it…I can't make a decision. Any suggestions?
